The sudden departure of Aloha Airlines comes as a tremendous jolt to our island community. What makes this even more shocking is that Aloha wasn't one of these faceless, all-tantaran corporations you read about in the Wall Street Journal. It was a local airline comprised of thousands of people we actually know and love – moms, dads, sisters, brothers, aunties, uncles, neighbors, childhood friends, etc. Aloha's demise feels like a loss in the `ohana and it will take time to heal our hearts.
To the hardworking, dedicated employees of Aloha Airlines, my heart and prayers go out to each and every one of you. Be proud of your accomplishments and continue to move forward with your heads held high.
In honor of your steadfast commitment to Aloha Airlines, I've recorded I Wish It Didn't Mean Goodbye. And as a small token of my appreciation, you may download it for free. May the song help to ease your pain and evoke warm memories of only good times with “the people's airline.” You exemplified the true essence of the aloha spirit and your presence will be missed in the skies.
